HEALING THE IMPOSSIBLE - USING NUTRITION AND DETOXIFICATION TO REVERSE DISEASE - Dr. Sherry A. Rogers, MD
3 hour Intensive - Admission $27 - (Tickets available in front lobby starting on Friday. This $27 price includes admission to all other lectures and Exhibits all weekend.)

Pick any disease. There are scores of papers proving that nutritional intervention improves the outcome. In this lecture, examples of common conditions that beautifully respond to the nutritional and environmental approach will include arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn, fatigue, congestive heart failure, hypercholesterolemia, angina, arrhythmias, hypertension, depression, schizophrenia, ADHD, cancer, and much more.

For example, in gynecology, abnormal Pap smears have reverted to normal once folic acid and other nutrient deficiencies have been corrected. Coronary arteriolosclerosis has been slowed with antioxidants, the survival of lung cancer patients has more than quadrupled with the addition of pennies a day of nutrients, osteoporosis and hypertension have been improved with the discovery and correction of hidden vitamin D deficiency, precancerous bronchial metaplasia has been reversed with B12 and folic acid (even though the patients kept smoking!), pathological aggression has been improved with DHA, and recalcitrant diarrhea after antibiotics has been eradicated with probiotics.

Medications work by turning off normal pathways that have become dysfunctional. Hence medications are inhibitors (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, ACE inhibitors), blockers (calcium channel blockers, beta blockers), and are antagonistic or anti- to various physiologic functions (like antihistamines, antibiotics, antacids, and more). But this inhibition also leads to turning off other normal functions which need to be corrected or new diseases will evolve. As an example, the statin drugs for lowering cholesterol work by inhibiting the enzyme HMG CoA reductase. But the body uses this enzyme to synthesize its own coenzyme Q10, without which the patient may develop fatigue, depression, diabetes, infertility, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, or hypertension. This needs to be supplemented to avoid this.

And often nutritional therapy is more beneficial than self prescribed over-the-counter drugs. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) cause well over 16,000 deaths a year just from gastrointestinal hemorrhage. This does not count the colitis, renal failure, or destruction of the femoral neck requiring hip replacement, nor the over 100,000 annual cases of congestive heart failure that they trigger. Yet glucosamine sulfate has no side effects and has been shown to be more effective than NSAIDs because it actually rebuilds cartilage.

Come and hear about the latest research!

Dr. Rogers will be available afterward for questions and booksignings at ETERNAL MOMENT BOOKSTORE booth 127 - 129.

All late-booking speakers and exhibitors will be listed in the Showguide Update, available at the Ticket Desk (front lobby) or Information Booth (Exhibit Hall) throughout the weekend.
